EGG-BESAN CHILA

This is a very healthy and innovative recipe for kids. It is a protein and calcium packed lunch box recipe for kids with goodness of protein in besan and egg with calcium in cheese.

Serves: 4-5 Rolls
INGREDIENTS
1 finely chopped onion
1 finely chopped tomato
1 tsp oregano
1 tsp turmeric powder
salt and chili to taste
1 tsp tomato sauce
1/4 cup grated cheese or cheese slices
1 cup gram flour (besan)
2-3 tbsp curd
4-5 beaten egg
water for making batter

METHOD
In pan take some oil, add chopped onions, saute till golden in color. Add chopped tomato and sauce. Add  salt and turmeric powder.Cover with the lid and cook till tomatoes get soft and tender.

Remove from fire and add keep aside.

In a bowl, mix together curd, besan, turmeric, salt, oregano and make thin batter using water.

In other bowl, beat one egg and add about 1 tbsp of onion-tomato gravy. Mix well.

Heat some oil in pan, add this batter and cook on low flame for 1-2 minute When it's cooked spread beaten egg with onion-tomato gravy.

Cover with lid to cook the egg. Once egg is cooked (test by touching with your fingers, it should not stick to your finger) add grated cheese.

Roll it. Increase the flame to medium to high and cook till crisp.

Cut and serve.

You can see egg-less besan roll recipe too in my blog.

NOTES:
1. Adding curd makes besan chila very soft and moist otherwise it becomes very dry.

2. For making roll use a pan with edges as it will help egg not to overflow from chila.
