IDLI MANCHURIAN

INGREDIENTS
Leftover idlis (I had 10-12 idlis)

For batter:
2 tbsp tomato sauce
1 tbsp soya sauce
Salt and pepper
1 cup maida (refined flour)
1/2 cup cornflour
water for making thick batter

For Sauce:
1 chopped onion
3-4 chopped garlic pods
4 tbsp tomato sauce
2 tbsp soya sauce
1 tsp sugar
salt and chilli to taste
1/2 cup water


METHOD
Cut leftover idlis as shown below in pic. Mix together refined flour, cornflour, salt and pepper. Be careful while adding salt as idli and the sauces also have salt.

Now add tomato and soya sauce. Add water little by little to make thick batter. Dip idlis in batter and deep fry till golden in colour. Keep aside.


For Sauce:
Chop one onion finely. Heat some oil in pan, add chopped onion. Cook till it become transparent. Add chopped garlic. Mix tomato sauce and soya sauce with sugar. Mix well. Add 1/2 cup water let it boil.

Add fried idlis in it. Mix well so that it coats well with idlis. Serve hot or pack in kids lunch box.

For batter:









1. Mix together all-purpose flour, cornflour, salt, pepper, tomato and soya sauce.










2. Add water nearly half cup to make thick batter consistency.










3. Coat idli in batter.










4. Deep fry.


For Sauce:
1. Add some oil, fry onion. Saute garlic.
















2. Mix together tomato sauce and soya sauce.













3. Add in cooked onion, mix salt, sugar and pepper.











4. Now goes water. Nearly 1/2 cup.










5. Mix well and let it boil.











6. Add fried idlis.










7. Mix well.
