Serves: 5-6 sandwiches
INGREDIENTS
2 onions cut in roundels
2 tomatoes cut in roundels
1 large cucumber cut in roundels (optional) I did not use
100 gm of lettuce
1 cup homemade egg-less mayonnaise
1 tsp dried mix herb or dried oregano
2 tbsp tomato sauce
1 tbsp mustard sauce (optional)
1/2 tsp paprika or red chilli powder (optional)
1 tsp garlic powder (optional)
1 tsp onion powder (optional)
salt and pepper to taste
12-15 bread slices (white/brown or multi-grain)
4-5 tsp of softened butter for browning of breads
5-6 slices of cheese slices (optional)
METHOD
Take deep bowl filled with half water and add 8-9 ice-cubes. Keep lettuce and onion roundels dipped. This will keep onions and lettuce fresh and crisp. Keep aside.
Make 1 minute egg-less mayonnaise or if using market brought transfer in a jar. Add oregano, tomato sauce, mustard sauce, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper to taste. Mix all the ingredients well. Your mayonnaise spread is ready to use.
Let's start with arranging part now.
Cut the edges of the bread. Put butter on one side and let it become brown and crisp. Apply butter on the other side and let this side also become brown.
Remove from heat, apply mayonnaise generously, keep lettuce leaf , tomato and cucumber, chicken ham. Again spread some mayonnaise on ham to balance the taste. Then goes onion, top it with a cheese slice and then cover it with another bread slice, on which mayonnaise should be spread evenly.
Cover and serve or pack in kids tiffin.
Pictorial:
1. Soak lettuce leaves and onions in water with some ice. This will keep your onion and lettuce crisp.
2. Thaw the frozen chicken ham.
3. Make 1 minute homemade mayonnaise. Mix all the ingredients mentioned.
4. Cut the edges of the bread. Apply softened butter on one side.
5. Toast and apply butter on the other side.
6. Flip and toast the other side now.
7. Remove from pan, apply mayonnaise.
8. Keep lettuce.
9. Keep tomato slice and then ham.
10. Butter some more mayonnaise over ham.
11. Keep onions.
12. Top with cheese slice, it is optional.
13. Apply mayonnaise on the other slice. Cover
14. Serve.
