GEMS COOKIES

INGREDIENTS
1 cup whole wheat flour or all-purpose flour
3/4 cup powdered sugar
1/4 cup butter
1/4 tsp baking soda
1 tsp vanilla essence
2-3 tbsp milk
9-10 gems

METHOD
In a bowl, mix flour, sugar and baking soda. Put butter and vanilla essence and rub it with hands with flour to give it bread-crumb like texture.

Add milk little by little combining all the ingredients together.

Grease baking tray with oil.

Make small balls from dough. Press it flat between your palm. Now dig in gems making eyes and nose or whatever design you like.

If you have different shapes of cutter you can use them for different shape and style.

Pre-heat oven at 180°C and bake it for 10-15 minutes or till the base of cookies become brown.

WHOLE WHEAT FLOUR ABSORBS MORE MILK THAN ALL-PURPOSE FLOUR. ADD MILK TO KNEAD DOUGH LITTLE BY LITTLE.

3. Knead dough using milk little by little.





















4. Make small sized ball and press it little between palm.





















5. Decorate with gems.





















6. Grease baking tray.






















7. Place them in tray giving some space between them.






















8. If you have cutters you can use them.




9. Place them on tray.





















10. Cookies are baked in pre-heated oven at 180°C for 12 minutes.
