Maize or makki ka atta have many health benefits. It's highly beneficial for kids and pregnant women as it contains many nutrients and vitamins. It is great for improving vision, curing anemia, constipation and many more. It works as magical medicine during cough and cold.
Kids love to have something sweet. So I gave it a sweet and healthy twist by adding loads of nuts. Sharing this yummy halwa being cherished by my kids during winters.
INGREDIENTS
1 cup makki ka atta (maize flour,cornmeal)
1/2 cup ghee (clarified butter)
2 cups water
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup nuts of your choice
METHOD
In a pan, mix together sugar and water. Cook till sugar dissolves completely.
Melt ghee in heavy bottomed pan, add makki and saute on low flame till fragrant and little brown in colour. This will take around 10 minutes.
Now add sugar syrup slowly stirring continuously at the same time. Cook till it comes together as a dough.
Roast nuts of your choice.
Add in halwa.
Serve hot.
