Serves: 8-10 pedas
INGREDIENTS
1 cup instant homemade khoya / mawa
3/4 cup fine powdered sugar
1/2 tsp cardamom powder (optional)
METHOD
Make instant khoya using milk powder, ghee and milk using microwave in 5 minutes. For exact measurements and important instruction see complete recipe here: INSTANT HOMEMADE KHOYA/MAWA
Once khoya is ready micro for another 2-3 minutes or till it turns golden in colour, stirring every 10 seconds in between to avoid burning.
If using market made khoya, crumble or grate it, add ghee and micro for 2-3 minutes or till it turns golden in colour.
Add powdered sugar and cardamom powder. Mix so that sugar gets incorporated very well, make sure sugar is finely powdered.
After mixing well, keep this aside and let it come down to room temperature. Don't make balls when it is warm or it will not hold proper shape.
Once it reaches room temperature level, make pedas or balls of desired size. Press it lightly between the palm to give peda shape.
Garnish with pistachio.
You can store this in air-tight jar up to 20 days.
Same procedure can be done on gas stove.
